12 Soufriere Foundation staff supervisors graduate from UWI Supervisors Management course
PRESS RELEASE – Friday 2, October 2015, was a memorable day for several middle managers of the Soufriere Foundation. On that day, twelve (12) full-time and trainee supervisors proudly graduated from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Supervisor’s Management course.
The UWI management program is a world-recognised qualification which is attained after completion of 40-hours of classroom study. Participants graduate after completing a case study, dissertation and proctored exam.
Unlike most programs of study where the student has to go to the university, the latter in a strategic partnership with the Soufriere Foundation was able to bring the program to the participants thus reducing cost and time.
In a small ceremony held with as much pomp as a college graduation to celebrate the participants’ accomplishments, UWI certificates were handed out to the graduands. In attendance at the Cool Breeze Leisure Inn venue were the Parliamentary Representative, Harold Dalson; UWI Open Campus Coordinator, Dr. Veronica Simon; District Education Officer, Valencia Charlery; Soufriere Foundation Chairman, Methodius Claircin; Director, Gloria Jaunai; Projects and Operations Manager, Dominic Alexander and family and friends of the graduands.
