SRDF hosts lecture on community-based tourism
PRESS RELEASE – On Friday, April 7th, 2017 the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) facilitated a lecture on community based tourism development at the Anse L’Ivrogne beach – site of the new entrance to the Gros Piton Nature Trail.
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Jimmy Haynes, the Executive Director of the SRDF, to the second year tourism class at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC).
The class was encouraged to be part of the island’s thriving tourism industry and to recognize the importance that the industry plays in the sustainability of the island’s economy. Emphasis on aggressive marketing and proper management of the natural resources for tourism development was also highlighted.
